A huge thanks to our Student Council members and moderators for helping plan an exciting Spirit Week and for Coach Casey preparing an ultra-fun Field Day! Who will win this year’s Irish House Cup?!?!
Students from our three Irish Houses have been competing all year. Will the Clovers defend and retain their title from last year? Current point totals are:
1st Place- Hibernians (Gold) with 4,497 points
2nd Place- Clovers (Green) with 4,359 points
3rd Place- Celtics (White) with 4,192 points
Students can earn points for their Irish House every day next week by participating in our Spirit Week activities!
Next week students will have several opportunities to dress down. Each day, please make sure your child adheres to Page 17 of Student/Parent Handbook regarding items such as pants/shorts/shirts/shoes that can be worn and the length of these clothing items as well (see excerpt below from Page 17 of the Handbook and NO GLITTER all week. Any accessory or clothing item that has glitter, should stay far away from St. Benilde's campus).
Monday, April 28th: #IRISH Proud Day, Each student can dress from head to toe in our school colors of green and white showing off their Irish Pride or wear his/her school uniform. Face paint is allowed, but no hair coloring and no glitter. Please follow guidelines from Page 17 of the Handbook outlined below.
Each student will receive a green and white cookie on this day.
Tuesday, April 29th: Disney Dress Down Day, Each student can dress as his/her favorite Disney (or other famous) character/dress as a Disney tourist or wear his/her school uniform. Please follow guidelines from Page 17 of Handbook outlined below.
Each student will have the opportunity to participate in our Disney Karaoke during his/her recess time.
Wednesday, April 30th: Fais Do-Do Day/Autism Awareness, Each student will wear his/her school uniform due to our weekly school Mass; however, students may wear a blue or red shirt with uniform bottoms to show support for Autism Awareness.
Each student will be receiving a sno-ball and get to listen to fun Cajun and Louisiana inspired music during his/her recess time.
Thursday, May 1st: Hawaiian Luau Day, Each student can dress down as they are heading to a Hawaiian Luau or wear his/her school uniform! Beach hats, grass skirts, flower leis, sunglasses, tropical shirts and shorts are encouraged! Please NO tank tops, flip flops, or swim tops/swim bottoms. Please follow guidelines from Page 17 of Handbook outlined below.
Each student will have the opportunity to participate in our luau games and contests (line dances, limbo, conga lines, etc) and receive a popsicle!
Friday, May 2nd: Field Day, Each student may wear his/her Irish Household t-shirt, this is the Friday Spirit Shirt your child has been or could have been wearing each Friday of the school year (Clovers- Green/ Celtics- White/ Hibernians- Gold) or a t-shirt representing his/her Irish House colors. Students may wear handbook approved shorts and tennis shoes of choice (if you are not aware of your child's Irish Household/House color, please email your child's homeroom teacher or email Coach Casey at [email protected]). Applying sunscreen at home and bringing a hat is encouraged. Please follow guidelines from Page 17 of Handbook outlined below.
On Field Day, May 2nd, lunch for Kindergarten to 7th Grade will be an outdoor/picnic lunch consisting of a hotdog (chili & cheese optional), chips, cookies, and a drink all provided by our Grandparents' Club or he/she can bring a home lunch. Pre-K 1 to Pre-K 4 can order a cafeteria lunch on this day or he/she can bring a home lunch.

Dress Down Days
On dress down days the following dress code must be followed:
Tops: Shirts, blouses, and sweatshirts that are school appropriate. Shirts or blouses that expose the midriff are not permitted. Students may not wear spaghetti straps or sleeveless blouses. Shirts or blouses may not be low-cut. Writing and/or logos must be school appropriate.
Bottoms: Jeans - Plain, traditional cut and fit, long blue jeans. Low riding jeans that expose the midriff are not permitted. Jeans must not have tears, holes, slits, etc.
Shorts - Length of shorts should be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee (shorts that do not meet the required length must be worn with tights/yoga pants/leggings). Cut off shorts or cut off blue jean shorts are not permitted. PE shorts are allowed.
Sweatpants - School and athletic/jogger sweatpants are allowed.
Tights/Yoga Pants/Leggings- Must be worn with shorts.
Shoes: Any tennis shoe or school shoe.
Socks: Crew sock or ankle sock.
