St. Benilde School is proud to announce that Robbie Vitrano - St. Benilde School Class of 1977 - has been named the recipient of the 2016 Benilde Medal for Alumni Achievement.
Robbie started in the mail room of an ad agency then co-founded his own agency - The Trumpet Group - that was named by Fast Company Magazine as on of the 10 most innovative in the world. He has co-founded an organization that builds entrepreneurial ecosystem that is now an international model. He co-founded an international company advocating healthy eating - The Naked Pizza Company - that was also recognized by Fast Company as among the top-10 most innovative.
Today, Robbie partners with people to apply innovation in business design, communications, and product development. His life in the innovation laboratory of post-Katrina New Orleans has informed his work at the intersection of entrepreneurship and branding with a focus on bettering the communities in which he works. He works to demonstrate that business must be practiced in a way that does not degrade people, communities, or the natural environment. As an entrepreneur, investor or consultant, he helps businesses committed to these principals become sustainable and achieve cultural influence.
For his many successes - and because he stands as a model of what a Catholic education from St. Benilde School can do to form children of faith, character, and commitment - we are proud to honor Robbie Vitrano with this year's Benilde Medal.
