Ms. St. Romain is a native of Jefferson Parish. She went to St. Matthew the Apostle Elementary School and Archbishop Chapelle High School. While at Chapelle, Ms. St. Romain was a member of the Archbishop Rummel Raider Marching Band. Ms. St. Romain says she always knew her vocation was to help others. When she started at Spring Hill College, she studied pre-medicine; however, halfway through a semester of shadowing local physicians, she realized that medicine was not the only way to help those in need. She switched majors to Theology with a concentration in Human Rights, and a minor in Studio Art. This switch helped her to see how education is a vital part of our society and that teaching was her true calling. After graduating from Spring Hill, she was accepted into the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education: Service Through Teaching Program. Ms. St. Romain taught in Northern California while earning her Masters of Education. After moving back to New Orleans, Ms. St. Romain earned her Reading Specialist Certification from Xavier University of New Orleans. This will be Ms. St. Romain’s fifth year teaching. She loves teaching in Catholic Schools because they allow her to incorporate her faith into every day lessons. She also loves having the opportunity to play guitar at Mass and help her students create their own prayer services. Ms. St. Romain enjoys painting, paddle boarding, running and training for races, trying new places to eat, and visiting her new nephew. She is very excited to be part of the St. Benilde family!
