Our Annual Turning of the Sashes Ceremony marks a significant milestone as our Student Council Officers of 2022-2023 pass the baton to the dynamic leaders of the 2023-2024 School Year. With great anticipation, we eagerly anticipate the innovative ideas our new Student Council will bring, shaping an inspiring future for our school.
On May 13th, the St. Benilde School Choir took center stage at the NOLA Gold Rugby Game, leading the stadium in a heartfelt rendition of the National Anthem. Their awe-inspiring performance captivated the entire stadium, showcasing their immense talent and school spirit.
Our 6th and 7th graders had an unforgettable day as they competed in the championship games of the MLB Players STEM League, hosted by Mrs. Virga in collaboration with Learn Fresh . The competition was fierce, and our young minds impressed everyone with their exceptional skills in science, technology, engineering, and math.
We concluded our SBS Spirit Week with Field Day, a day full of friendly competition and teamwork! The Clovers, Celtics, and Hibernians gave it their all in a variety of fun games and activities. Thanks to the hard work of Coach Casey, parent volunteers, and the Grandparents Club, everyone had a memorable day of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and delicious food!
Creating unforgettable memories, St. Benilde Home & School Association hosted a Father Daughter Dance on Friday, April 14th. We had a wonderful time filled with love, laughter, and special moments shared between fathers and their daughters.
Spring lessons in full bloom! Pre-K2 planted beans before Easter break and eagerly nurtured them with soil. Now, they're taking them home to watch them grow.
Mr. Norbert Gubert, proud grandfather of 6th grader Ryan E., and his friend buzzed into our school to educate our students about the fascinating world of bees! From 6th and 7th graders to PreK 4 and Kinder, everyone was abuzz with excitement as they witnessed an active beehive, savored the sweet taste of honey, and engaged in captivating discussions about these incredible creatures
Today our Director of Advancement & Admissions, Mrs. Micki Andry, turned over her title to Pre-K2 Student Hailey E. and 6th Grader Amelie S. as a reward from Boosterthon! From reading to a class, helping out in Benny's Boutique, to touring with prospective families, they did it all. They said they had the best day ever!!

Congratulations to Abby M. and Alice P. for representing St. Benilde at the New Orleans Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Spelling Bee at Dillard University. Abby and Alice competed against over 100 4th-8th grade students from the New Orleans area. Alice made it through 4 rounds and Abby made it to the final 5 students. We are so proud of Abby and Alice!
Meet Luke K., St. Benilde School's nominee for the 22-23 Statewide Student of the Year competition! Each year, every elementary school is allowed to nominate one 5th grader as the Student of the Year for their respective school. We are honored by Luke's remarkable representation of St. Benilde in this year's competition!
A heartfelt thank you to our amazing students, parents, volunteers, donors, and sponsors for making the St. Benilde School's Shamrock'N Roll Fun Run a huge success! Your support and generosity truly made a difference and helped meet our goal of $36,000 through donations from our fun run and a few private pledges to resurface our playground. We couldn't have done it without each and every one of you. ☘️
This past weekend, nine of our St. Benilde School 7th graders participated in the Archbishop Rummel High School Academic Rally. There were 15 schools with up to 10 students from each school participating in the event. Our students represented St. Benilde wonderfully.
We are so proud of 6th Grader Robert H. who was recently given the Archdiocesan Altar Server of the Year award for St. Benilde Parish. He was one of 80 altar servers to gather with Archbishop Gregory Aymond for a special Mass and award ceremony. Robert serves faithfully at the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass, our St. Benilde School Masses, and various special liturgies. We are proud of the young man he is and the example he continues to set for his peers.
Our student council recently sponsored an “orange dress down day" for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society raising $657.22! Thank you so much to all of our students for their generosity and for contributing to the mission of finding a cure for Leukemia and Lymphoma.
While others were celebrating Mardi Gras, our 7th graders had the opportunity to experience our government first hand in Washington DC with Close Up Educational Programs. Highlights of the trip include Ford's Theatre, Arlington Cemetery, a private Capital tour by Steve Scalise's office, exploring the monuments at night, Gettysburg, and even SNOW! It was an experience they will never forget
