Last week in ELA, our 7th graders read "An American Childhood," a story about a young girl's love for exploring the world around her through the lens of a microscope. Our students were able to experience this sense of wonder for themselves firsthand by going into the science lab and witnessing the magic of microscopes.
Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a national day of service, a chance to empower individuals, strengthen communities and bridge barriers.
We want to give a big THANK YOU to our wonderful St. Benilde Community. Together with your help, our Student Council was able to collect 53 coats to donate to children in need. Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord. "The Lord and ruler is coming; kingship is his, and government and power." With these words the Church proclaims that today's feast brings to a perfect fulfillment all the purposes of Advent. Epiphany, therefore, marks the liturgical zenith of the Advent-Christmas season.
On January 2nd, our teachers had the opportunity to recharge and reflect at our annual faculty retreat. Faculty and staff were joined by Fr. Michael Luxbacher, who spoke to our teachers about faith, hope, and our school theme, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord our God will be with you wherever you go." -Joshua 1:9 #ChristCentered
We would like to congratulate four of our 7th grade boys who have received academic scholarships to attend Archbishop Rummel High School totaling over $60,000.
