On Friday, February 17 students will be permitted to dress down in their favorite Mardi Gras shirt with school appropriate dress down day bottoms and shoes (please see information from handbook below). Dress Down Lagniappe- For our Krewe of Rainbow Mardi Gras parade held the afternoon of Friday, Feb. 17, students can bring Mardi Gras accessories (masks, hats, costumes, beads, etc.) to wear with their Mardi Gras dress down day attire to celebrate our parade. Teachers will give students a few minutes to put on their accessories before leaving the classroom to go the Krewe of Rainbow parade. Students are allowed to wear a Mardi Gras shirt on this day with school approved dress down day bottoms and shoes, see below from pages 17-18 of the Student/Parent Handbook: Jeans - Plain, traditional cut and fit, long blue jeans. Low riding jeans that expose the midriff are not permitted. Jeans must not have tears, holes, slits, etc. Shorts - Length of shorts should be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee (shorts that do not meet the required length must be worn with tights/yoga pants/leggings). Cut off shorts or cut off blue jean shorts are not permitted. PE shorts are allowed. Sweatpants - School and athletic sweatpants are allowed. Tights/Yoga Pants/Leggings- Must be worn with shorts. Shoes: Any tennis shoe or school shoe.
