St. Benilde School - a Catholic coeducational school serving children from Nursery through Seventh Grade - has been experiencing significant growth in our early childhood programs as a result of ongoing efforts at program improvement and investing in classroom resources. St. Benilde School is committed to creating a culture of continuous improvement with academic and human formation programs that are personalized around the unique needs of each child.

As part of our ongoing school improvement efforts and to meet increasing demand for our services, we are currently in the process of hiring the following positions in our early childhood programs:

Director of Early Childhood Programs (Full Time): The Director of Early Childhood Programs is a year-round, administrative-level position that will oversee all Early Childhood Programs between Nursery and Prekindergarten 4, including programs offered during the summer. The Director will work collaboratively with the Principal and Assistant Principal to provide leadership, supervise and support teachers, and ensure that the school meets and exceeds all State of Louisiana expectations and standards for early childhood education, including licensing standards. This will include supervision of an early childhood staff of 20 and approximately 120 children. The preferred candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and at least five years experience at the Director’s level. Lead Teacher, Early Childhood Programs (Full Time): Lead Teachers, Early Childhood Programs for St. Benilde School work in our year-round programs for children from Nursery through Prek 2, or in our ten-month programs for children in Prek 3 and Prek 4. Lead Teachers work closely with the Director of Early Childhood Programs, Assistant Teachers, and each other in creating an immersive early learning environment that is safe, cognitively rich, spiritually nourishing, and developmentally appropriate. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with five years experience teaching in an early childhood program in either a lead or assistant role. Experience using Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold is desired. Interviews will begin in mid-November and continue until all positions are filled. Assistant Teacher, Early Childhood Programs (Full & Part Time): Assistant Teachers for St. Benilde School work in our year-round programs for children from Nursery through Prek 2, or in our ten-month programs for children in Prek 3 and Prek 4. Assistant Teachers work closely with the Lead Teacher and Director for Early Childhood Programs in creating an immersive early learning environment that is safe, cognitively rich, spiritually nourishing, and developmentally appropriate. The preferred candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Candidates without degrees but with significant positive experience working in early childhood education will also be considered.
