Today our Pre-K4 and Kindergarten Classes celebrated their 100th Day of School! Our classes celebrated by counting to 100, dressing in costumes, and participating in exciting activities involving the number 100 throughout the day! We are 100 days more blessed here at St. Benilde.
Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as a national day of service, a chance to empower individuals, strengthen communities and bridge barriers.
On Wednesday and Thursday, our St. Benilde Students celebrated their academic and personal achievements at our Second Quarter Award Ceremony. Great job students! We are so proud to honor each and every one of you and are excited to see how you continue to learn and grow during the rest of the year!
Our Student of the Month for November is Alexis B. Alexis is someone who is a shining example of our November virtue of the month, kindness. She is always willing to help others, sincerely cares for those around her, and greets everyone with a smile. She is described as having a genuine heart who reflects the love of Christ to her classmates.
Congratulations to our creative Kindergarteners who won first place for our Halloween Hoopla Door Decorating Contest! To celebrate their win, the Kindergarten class will have an ice cream party! We want to give a big thank you to our wonderful Grandparent's Club for their generosity and for helping to make our Halloween Hoopla a memorable event!
To celebrate All Saints Day on November 1st, our fourth and fifth grade SBS students decorated pumpkins that represented various Saints. Students also completed a research project to learn about their Saint!
Our new school sign was installed today! 52 years after St. Benilde was founded, we finally have a sign for the front of our school! Repainting of the Sisters of Loreto statue, lighting, and landscaping to come soon to finish this project.
St. Benilde School has been celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month learning by learning about the histories, cultures and contributions of people from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
The St. Benilde Church food pantry is running low. Items can be delivered to the red crates located by the front entrance of the school or given to your child's homeroom teacher. Items should be brought to school between Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Friday, Aug. 28.

At the request of the Office of Catholic Schools, in conjunction with the civil authorities of Jefferson Parish, based on the forecasts for the amount of rain and the potential flooding impact of Tropical Storm Cristobal, we have been asked to close our summer camp and the Loreto Center for tomorrow, Monday, June 8. We plan on resuming all summer camp activities and on re-opening the Loreto Center as scheduled on Tuesday, June 9.
