Advent/Christmas Festivus 2024

Monday, December 9th - Merry Merry Monday - Christmas Cookies provided to all students. And our all school Mass celebrating the Immaculate Conception of Mary at 8:15AM. 

Tuesday, December 10th - “Buddy” the Elf Day- “Buddy” the Elf craft with their SBS buddy.

Wednesday, December 11th - Winter Wardrobe Wonderland- Students can wear their favorite “Ugly” Christmas Sweater or Shirt (or a student can wear the Advent colors of purple and pink- a purple or pink sweater or shirt) WITH their school uniform bottoms.

Thursday, December 12th - Deck the Halls - Students can wear purple or pink socks for Advent or Christmas socks on this day with ANY tennis shoe of their choice. Also, there will be an Advent/Christmas door decorating competition. Students along with their teachers will decorate their classroom door and hall for this contest.

Friday, December 13th - Festive Fashion Friday - Advent/Christmas Dress Down Day - students may wear the Advent colors of purple or pink, the Christmas colors of red or green, and/or Christmas clothes, socks, hats, etc. (NO Pajamas)- Must follow St. Benilde Handbook Dress Down Day guidelines found on page 18 of the Student Handbook located in the FACTS Family Portal, see below.  Each Advent or Christmas item worn will be a point for your house. Also, Benilde Bash will conclude SBS Christmas Spirit Week. 

Dress Down Days (Friday, Dec. 13th is the only full dress down day)

On dress down days the following dress code must be followed:

Tops: Shirts, blouses, and sweatshirts that are school appropriate.  Shirts or blouses that expose the midriff are not permitted.  Students may not wear spaghetti straps or sleeveless blouses. Shirts or blouses may not be low-cut.  Writing and/or logos must be school appropriate.   

Bottoms:          Jeans - Plain, traditional cut and fit, long blue jeans. Low riding jeans that expose the midriff are not permitted. Jeans must not have tears, holes, slits, etc. 

Shorts - Length of shorts should be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee (shorts that do not meet the required length must be worn with tights/yoga pants/leggings). Cut off shorts or cut off blue jean shorts are not permitted. PE shorts are allowed.

                        Sweatpants - School and athletic sweatpants are allowed.

                        Tights/Yoga Pants/Leggings- Must be worn with shorts.

Shoes:             Any tennis shoe or school shoe.

Socks:              Crew sock or ankle sock.

Substitutions to the above requirements are not allowed.  The only option is to wear the school uniform.  Students who do not wear appropriate attire to school will be required contact the parents/guardians to bring their school uniform. Disciplinary consequences may occur.
